My scholarship explores how academic libraries adapt to technological, organizational, and cultural change. Across my publications, books, and national presentations, I examine the ways libraries can leverage technology, evidence-based decision making, and thoughtful leadership to improve services, strengthen organizations, and better support both library users and employees.
My early research focused on library technology, user experience, web accessibility, content management systems, open-source software, and web analytics. This work contributed practical guidance for libraries implementing emerging technologies while emphasizing usability, accessibility, and data-informed decision making. I have authored two books published by the American Library Association on web analytics and edited a journal volume on library intranets.
More recently, my research has expanded to academic library leadership and organizational development. My work explores topics such as workplace culture, equitable professional development, organizational effectiveness, trauma-informed leadership, and promotion and tenure in academic librarianship. Through this scholarship, I seek to identify practical strategies that help libraries build healthier workplaces, develop future leaders, and create more equitable and sustainable organizations.
Across all of my work, a common thread is the belief that successful libraries are built through the thoughtful integration of technology, evidence, and people-centered leadership.
