Current Projects

Here’s what’s in the works for 2026…

Organizational Communication

I’m working on an number of projects to improve all directions of communication at work. These include implementing a structured agenda for our monthly Library All meetings, as well as a feedback for for those meetings. We are also convening the Associate Deans Leadership Team, a middle management team, made up of department heads from across the DU Libraries, to break down organizational silos and tackle big issues like our org/committee structure and management of institutional knowledge–think, “where are the minutes for that meeting?”

More MLIS Teaching

I’m continuing to teach as an adjunct in the MLIS program in DU’s Morgridge College of Education. I’ve done two quarters each of LIS 4321, Collection Management, and LIS 4040, Management of Information Organizations. The students in our LIS cohort are amazing, and they give me great hope for the future of our profession!

Research & Service

I’m thrilled to be presenting at the Conference on Academic Library Management in May, focusing on how library administrators can respond in the wake of violent events in libraries. I also have a column forthcoming in College & Research Libraries News about how promotion and tenure documents and practices unfairly favor reference and instruction work.

One of my major recent professional commitments has been serving as the Communications Chair for the Colorado Wyoming Network of Women Leaders, a fantastic organization that supports women in all areas of higher ed work. I’m also serving on the Colorado Association of Libraries ACRL (the state chapter of ACRL) planning committee, and we’re looking forward to welcoming academic librarians and LIS students from all over the state to the second annual Academic Librarian Conferencing and Network Day on June 15th.
